About Thryve Group
We help small business owners become confident, financially savvy leaders. Through strategic accounting, CFO-level insight, and hands-on guidance, we don’t just report numbers – we help clients make better decisions and build stronger businesses.
The Role
You’ll work directly with small business owners as their trusted financial advisor – helping them understand their numbers, plan ahead, and make smarter decisions. This is client advisory work, not compliance grind.
The role starts at 20–25 hours per week. We’re genuinely supportive of long-term part-time arrangements, and full-time is available down the road if you ever want it.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead monthly financial review meetings with clients
- Prepare and present KPIs and financial performance insights
- Support cash flow, profitability, and strategic conversations
- Coordinate on tax planning
- Translate financials into plain language business owners actually understand
- Build strong, lasting client relationships
What We’re looking For
Two things matter most: a genuine understanding of business finances and real experience working with clients. Backgrounds that tend to fit:- 3–7 years in public accounting, business/commercial banking, corporate FP&A, or a controller role
- Comfortable speaking with clients – or genuinely excited to grow there
- Able to explain financial concepts to non-financial business owners
- Friendly, dependable, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
- Looking for advisory work that fits a flexible schedule
Why This Role is Different
- CFO-level advisory exposure from day one
- Real flexibility – built for experienced professionals who want balance
- Performance-based bonus potential
- Structured training and mentorship from firm leadership
- Meaningful work where you see your impact on real businesses
If this sounds like you…
You might be a great fit if:
- You’re ready to move beyond purely technical accounting work
- You enjoy talking with people—not just working in spreadsheets
- You want your work to actually influence decisions and outcomes
- You like teaching, guiding, and helping others understand their numbers
