📍 Hybrid / Remote | Thryve Group
💰 $80,000 – $95,000 (full-time equivalent; part-time prorated)
About Thryve Group
At Thryve Group, we help small business owners become confident, financially savvy leaders. Through strategic accounting, CFO-level insights, and hands-on education, we don’t just report numbers—we help clients make better decisions and build stronger businesses.
We know many accountants—especially during busy season—are feeling stretched, burned out, and disconnected from the impact of their work. If you’re ready for something more meaningful and client-focused, this could be the right next step.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant (2–4 years experience) who wants to grow beyond traditional accounting work and develop into a trusted advisor to business owners.
This is a client-facing role where you’ll work directly with business owners on their financials, help them understand what’s happening in their business, and guide better decision-making.
This role starts part-time (20–25 hours/week) with the opportunity to grow into full-time if desired. We are also supportive of long-term part-time arrangements for the right person.
What you will be Doing
- Participate in and eventually lead monthly financial review meetings with clients
- Prepare and present KPI and financial performance insights
- Support cash flow, profitability, and strategic discussions
- Assist with tax planning coordination
- Engage in ad hoc client conversations as business needs arise
- Build strong relationships and help ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Help business owners understand their numbers in a clear, approachable way
What Success Looks Like
We don’t expect you to walk in knowing everything – we will train and support you.
First 1–3 months:
- Learn our systems and tools
- Shadow client meetings and review recorded sessions
- Prepare financial insights and recommendations for review
Months 3–6:
- Begin leading portions of client meetings with support
- Start building confidence in client communication
6–12 months:
- Lead client meetings independently
- Manage a portfolio of client relationships (20–30 clients over time)
Â
What We’re looking For
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or similar)
- Comfortable speaking with clients (or excited to grow in this area)
- Friendly, personable, and able to build relationships
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-technical business owners
- Strong sense of ownership and follow-through
- Interest in growing into a more strategic, advisory role
Why This Role is Different
- Direct exposure to CFO-level advisory work
- Structured training and mentorship (you’ll work closely with leadership in our firm)
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time, higher-level advisory role
If this sounds like you…
You might be a great fit if:- You’re ready to move beyond purely technical accounting work
- You enjoy talking with people—not just working in spreadsheets
- You want your work to actually influence decisions and outcomes
- You like teaching, guiding, and helping others understand their numbers
